Hi Fiona, good assessment of how the oils can help, issues to be addressed, reasoning/selection of oils, special considerations and lifestyle suggestions.
Adhesive Pad: great idea and becoming very popular. I haven't found a source for blank ones but have created my own. Percentage notes is actually 5% not 4%: Lesson 3 blending
Massage blend: good reasoning/selection of oils but 2% is low for a pain blend. I would start at a minimum of 5%.
Room Spray: good idea but I'd decrease the percentage of alcohol to about 10%. Another idea would be to use vegetable glycerin instead of the alcohol and use it as a facial spray as well to help with sleep as well as create a lovely sleeping environment.
Good job.

Hi Fiona, typically 5-20 drops per 250 ml of salt as per lesson 3. Volume of water is not a factor so don't worry about the math, just drops per.
Dead Sea Salts: Come from one of the world’s richest sources of minerals and are noted for
their therapeutic qualities that help relieve joint discomfort, sore muscles, arthritis, psoriasis,
eczema. Mix 5-20 drops of essential oil per 5 ml of chosen bath base and add to 250 ml of salt.

Essential Oils: Lesson 3
Scented Bath Salts: 2 cups coarse sea salts, 30-40 drops essential oil blended into 5 ml jojoba
oil. Blend well, store in an airtight container. Use 60 ml per bath.
Epsom Salts: A mild alkaline salt that disperses easily in water, this is excellent in the bath for
soothing skin inflammation, muscular aches, and pains. Mix 5-20 drops of essential oil per 5 ml
of chosen bath base and add to 250 ml of salt

Hi Julie. When I was doing the assignment, I was quite confused about the ratios for making bath salts. I consulted the formulas from our textbook, but it seems my calculation is bad and includes too much carrier oil.

Could you please remind me again what the suggested ratio is between essential oils, carrier oil, and salt? Although you mentioned that 15 ml of carrier oil would be the maximum, how much salt and EO should be used accordingly? Also, do we need to consider the amount of water used to dissolve the product in the bath at the end, given that different treatments, such as foot/hand soaking, might apply sometimes?

Good reminder on "less is more" and other pieces of advice, and I will use the suitable number of EO types when I start my case studies. :)

Julie, thank you for pointing out that the toner needs to include other emulsifiers, which I hadn’t noticed before.

Meanwhile, I am curious whether ingredients such as niacinamide and hyaluronic acid can be added to the formula or other facial products to enhance overall function. Or would that contradict the properties of EOs?

Hi Fiona, good assessment of how the oils can help, issues to be addressed, special considerations (mental health experts are key) and lifestyle suggestions. Very important to be addressing the client as a whole family unit.
Roller Ball: great reasoning/selection of oils. This is a great application method to use Neroli (only a few drops needed) which is an excellent oil as you have indicated. When dealing with adolescents it's very important to engage them in the process so they can feel empowered when dealing with such difficult emotions. I have had great success with Neroli on its own as a "safe scent".
Bath Salts: another good application method provided she likes baths but I'd suggest you make a master "product" versus a blend to add to the salts. Ease of application is very important especially for an adolescent. Add essential oils to a maximum of 15 mls of carrier oil before mixing into salts. Store in a zip lock bag or I use mason jars which look good and provide inexpensive packaging for your product.
Massage Oil: Rose is another expensive oil but worth the price. Wonderful idea to foster mother/daughter relationship and opportunity to further communication. Overall really well done, just remember sometimes less is more, your percentages are right on for her age but you don't have to use 5 essential oils in every product. Working with a few oils may be better to help her associate an aroma with safety.

Hi Fiona, good assessment of how the oils can help, special considerations and lifestyle suggestons.
Toner: nice selection of oils with the hydrolat but you should add an emulsifier such as vegetable glycerin (1 tsp) and perhaps 1/2 distilled water as the hydrolat is pretty strong on it's own. 1/3 hydrolat. 1/3 aloe vera juice, 1/3 distilled water would be a good option when adding multiple essential oils.
Focus Oil: percentage is ok for a spot treatment but with 5 different essential oils it might be difficult to adjust if not getting the results hoped for. Perhaps start with 2 or 3 (tea tree is a gold standard, lavender for anti-inflammatory properties and grapefruit as a mental health plus acne component). Then add more if needed to obtain results.
Cleaning Mask: good idea and the oats are also great for inflammation. Only comment about the essential oils is that neroli (although my personal favourite) is very expensive and might not be the most economical option for this application method. It's wonderful for a facial blend and although expensive you don't have to use much so good value for great results.

Naturally she would have fallen in love with the new aroma stick, it has Neroli. Such a charming and loving oil, it's a favorite of mine. Beautiful blend. I konw you have Frankicnece in here, but is also good with geranium. It is almost a perfume after you add it, as it smells so angelic.
I liked that you added a lot of orange into the blend with woods, as it does need to be rounded out a bit with more citrus at times. Did you smell it as you prepared?

Oh that diffuser blend will help her relax, alright~. Such a nice blend. Glad the massage oil is working. I like that you added ginger to it as it is very nuturing with its added warmthness. WOndering if she has a preference between the inhaler and the two other products you created. Overall good dilution rates, choice of oils and attention to clients needs. Happy to see this in your case studies - good job. You are on the right track.
